Nocciole del Piemonte IGP
Piedmont hazelnuts are PGI certified products (Protected Geographical Indication), typical of the region between Langhe, Roero and Monferrato. These nuts are the Tonda Gentile Tribolata variety and are used almost exclusively for cake-making: Piedmont is in fact recognized worldwide as the birthplace of gianduia, a mixture of chocolate and hazelnut paste, used to make chocolates, desserts and spreads.
